Playing with gravity

This is my entry for the Renderman "First Contact" Art Challenge.
I was selected as one of the finalists.

Synopsis: Humanity had its first contact, and it didn't go so well. We had to fight to survive, and we did. Their spaceships and technology still litter the earth but people have learned to live with it.
One of the alien spaceships, while having its tractor beams active, was taken down, crashing in a small town flipped on its back, pulling inside everything around it including the nearby playground. The power of the tractor beams dimed down a bit but are still active in some areas, with debris still glued to the inside of the hull and others floating around. By some happy accident a piece of the old swing survived and ended up in a state of equilibrium between the power of the tractor beam and earth's gravity.

"They say that if you swing hard enough you can enter earth's gravity and end up doing a full 360."
